WIOA Application Process

Serving Medina County. Hondo is a rural center; leads should first attend a virtual WIOA GIS using the board schedule (Mondays and Wednesdays 9:00 AM, Zoom ID 897 5219 2408; Tuesdays and Thursdays 4:00 PM, Zoom ID 850 0446 9045). Customers may walk in Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM, for information; staff refer them to orientation or schedule them based on the advisor’s calendar. The initial referral is orientation, followed by one-on-one guidance, eligibility review, and assessment. Veronica said training applicants need at least 6.0 on the reading/math assessment, completed at Hondo; she noted a possible exception for CDL if the school accepts a lower score and documentation is provided. For the training packet, provide the all-inclusive cost, course curriculum, and start/end dates; ATI can supply an acceptance letter, cost breakdown showing its scholarship, and module details. Customers should try to get these materials at least two weeks before training starts.

Orientation Details

Rural Alamo center: the first choice is the virtual WIOA orientation on Zoom, no sign-up needed: Mondays and Wednesdays 9:00 AM https://zoom.us/j/89752192408, or Tuesdays and Thursdays 4:00 PM https://zoom.us/j/85004469045. After it, the attendee list goes to the offices and a career advisor reaches out. They can also drive to a San Antonio in-person orientation. Can't make either: walk in here at a time set with ATI for account setup and information; being seen that day isn't guaranteed. Open Mon-Fri 8-5. Career Advisor Veronica De Leon sometimes keeps Wednesdays 10-11 open, not every week.
