Customers attend orientation first, then complete an eligibility review; eligible customers proceed to a career-advisor intake and assessment to identify barriers and support successful training completion and employment. East Houston reported a current 3–4 week eligibility backlog, with intake potentially taking a couple more weeks because the office has one career advisor. Regina said customers who miss East Houston's Thursday orientation can try the following week or another office.
In-person WIOA orientation is every Thursday at 10:00 AM at East Houston (official flyer). Book 9:15 AM (45 minutes early) so they check in and staff help set up their account.
